Rev-ing File Attachments
Brain allows keeping all revisions of file attachments as separately accessible rev-level attachments.
Suppose you need to revise the copy of a spreadsheet stored in a thought?
- First, click on the thought so it is in focus.
- Then, click on the file icon in the lower pane. Note: make sure you click on the latest rev -- see the spin box with rev numbers. The file will download to your computer.
- Revise the file in Excel (or whatever) and save it.
- Go back to the thought in Brain and click on the "Add attachment" button on the lower-right portion of the bottom pane. Browse to the file, then click the "Add" button. Now fill in the description of what the revision is about. When done, click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the form.
You will then see that the revision counter has increased by one.
Eliminating Copies of Old Versions
Suppose you want to eliminate all the old versions, keeping only the current one? That's pretty easy:
- Click on the thought to make sure it has focus.
- You can see a counter on the right side of the lower pane which shows which version you are looking at and how many versions BrainEKP is keeping.
- You can eliminate some of the older versions by deleting them singly:
- Select a version number to delete;
- Then in the Actions dropdown, click on Delete this version;
- Repeat as necessary.
- Alternatively, you can delete all of the old versions:
- Make sure the highest version number is selected, e.g., 2 of 2 or 8 of 8.
- In the Actions dropdown, click on Delete Old Versions.
- Click the confirmation.
