Canon HV20 Videocamera
I got this superb camcorder from B&H Photo in mid-May, 2007. So far I haven't done anything particularly Eisenstein-ish, but the photo/video quality is really incredible. Here is the specs page at B&H Photo.
It records to video to mini-DV tapes, and stills to miniSD memory cards.

Capture

It took a while to get the HD capture working right through the Pinnacle 710-USB device, but after reinstallation of the USB drivers, suddenly the HD-20 showed up as one of the capture source options. Hopefully it doesn't disappear as mysteriously.
Once there, the Pinnacle Studio 10 software worked fine at capturing the video, albeit in an enormous file. A 50 sec segment was stored in a 158 Mb m2v file.
