Cgywin

Cgywin is a linux emulator that runs in windows. It is best described on its home page.

I installed it on toby in order to try it as a means of putting sshd onto a windows machine. I had tried filezilla, but was unable to figure out how to make it run sftp under ssh2.

Here's a page that details how to install cygwin and sshd, not that there is too much to it.

Installing cygwin went smoothly, though the supplied batch file for starting it didn't work. Do batch files really work still in XP? I converted it to a shortcut and it worked fine.

sshd worked fine, as well. It is functioning now, although the firewall blocks all access to it at the moment.
