Gallery Photo Web Site System

Gallery is a php-based web photo album system more fully described their home page.

9/25/05 upgraded to Gallery 2 on home.acheson.org.

While Gallery runs on the web server, a component, Gallery Remote, runs on a local computer allowing creation of albums and uploading pictures with a Windows-style drag-and-drop interface.

My workflow for adding an album is:

1. Create a set of appropriately-sized images. I use BreezeBrowser's "proof" function set for 960 x 1440 pixels.
2. Run Gallery Remote:
   1. Log in to web site.
   2. Create a new album, providing the album name and folder name. The latter should be in the form "YYMMDDname."
   3. Add a description.
   4. Open the Proofs folder where the images from step 1 were created in Total Commander.
   5. Select All, then drag into the Gallery Remote window.
   6. Click on "Upload Pictures."
3. In web browser, check that upload was successful.
4. If necessary, use browser to edit the site.
