Printing in Linux

Printing in linux is not one of its better features.

Here's a Debian and Windows Shared Printing Mini HowTo.

Find Windows Printers

smbclient -L toby -U oacheson

Lists all shares for host toby, including printers.

Use Gnome CUPS manager to configure printers

Double-click on New Printer to add printer.

BETTER OPTION: Use kprint - KDE CUPS manager

lp filename

Prints to default printer

Look at _man lp_ for other options, e.g.,

  * -d destination for other printer
